If you’re looking for a case of what not to do regarding public relations, look at Kayne West. But, if you’re looking to take advantage of the issues that impact your business, this tattoo removal shop saw an opportunity and jumped on it.
Without going into detail, Kayne West is no longer kosher. After his public statements, NAAMA Studios in London launched a public relations campaign offering to remove Kayne West-related tattoos for free. Normally they charge around £2,000 ($3400 Canadian) for a removal. The campaign caused next to nothing as it was just a few social media posts. But the attention they received through earned media in the national papers would have cost much more than removing a few tattoos.
NAAMA Studios knew its target audience and paid attention to the issues of the day. Combined with a great public relations idea, this shop was thrust into the spotlight as the place to go for tattoo removal.
