British Columbia – Province Wide Survey of Decided Voters

From July 22-27, Sovereign North Strategies Inc. conducted a live call survey of British Columbia residents. Calls were made to landline and mobile numbers across the province. Total responses from those self-identifying as decided voters were 576. Total responses were 775. The overall provincial margin of error is 4%, 19 times out of 20.

Within this, 56% of respondents resided in Vancouver and surrounding areas, 17% resided in Kelowna and surrounding areas, and the remaining 27% comprises the rest of the province.

Respondents who self-identified as likely voters were asked the following question:
“If the provincial election were held tomorrow, which party would you be most likely to vote for? The BC NDP led by David Eby; the BC United Party, formerly called the BC Liberal Party, led by Kevin Falcon; the BC Conservative Party led by John Rustad; the BC Green Party led by Sonia Furstenau; or a different party?”

The NDP maintains the top position in the province, with 36% of the vote, followed by the Conservative Party of BC with 31%, BC United with 15%, and the Greens with 9%. With the election less than 3 months away, it is worthwhile to note that greater than 1 in 4, or 26% of respondents self-identified as
undecided.

There is a noticeable uptick in provincial support levels for the BC United, and it is clear that the large undecided cohort provides avenues for all parties to continue to garner public support.
